One of the most prestigious buildings that we have worked on, the Old War Office is a Grade II* listed landmark at the heart of Whitehall, London.

At this site we offered a complete hoist package containing a variety of hoist types and capacities. In total we supplied 7 machines over a 2 year period. The largest machine configuration provided was a twin Bocker BK2038FC Passenger & Goods machine. These each have a lifting capacity of 2.2 tonnes with a variety of additional items available.

Our engineers installed Goods machines, Transport Platforms and Passenger & Goods hoists both inside and outside of the building. Bocker LX2024 hoists were configured as both A17 (1.5m x 1.7m) and A42 (1.5m x 4.2m) machines, and two of these were converted into Transport Platforms to suit the needs of this project.

As this project ran for over 2 years, with machines being installed and dismantled as and when required, we carried out monthly inspections to ensure the machines were all kept in good working order, given the duty cycle on site. Our engineers took great care around the old building and with continual servicing the technicians on site did not have to worry about unexpected call outs.

The former Ministry of Defence building was converted into a 125-room, world-class Raffles hotel, and 85 luxury residences. This 760,000 square foot development required a mixture of machine heights with a varying number of landings to achieve the access required by those on site, and we are proud to have supplied Ardmore with this project.
