York Castle is a fortified complex in the city of York, England. It consists of a sequence of castles, prisons, law courts and other buildings, which were built over the last nine centuries on the south side of the River Foss. The now-ruined keep of the mediaeval Norman castle is commonly referred to as Clifford’s Tower.

During the tower’s 5 million pound renovation, NTP supplied a Bocker MX2024 A34 goods only machine. Initially the machine was used to remove large buckets of soil as the site had to dig the old ground out and lower the floor level. Once completed the machine was  used to get materials in to the tower as the restoration began.

The hoist had a safe working load of 2000kg, a top landing height of 12m, fed 1 landing plus base and was on site for a 55 week period.

You can see some amazing drone footage which features our hoist here.

This was a great project to be involved with and it was a privilege to be crucial part of bringing this building back to life
