Workshop Technician
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join a fast-growing hire business, working from our head office in Barnwell (near Peterborough). As part of a dedicated workshop team, you will need to service and maintain a range of high-quality machinery and deliver the best possible service for our customers. You should have a mechanical maintenance or plant fitting background, and experience working with access machinery, construction hoists, cranes or similar would be advantageous, but is not essential.

The Role
The successful candidate will join the Service team based at our head office near Peterborough, as an electrical specialist you will be responsible for all aspects of electrical hoist preparation and repair, working in conjunction with mechanical service technicians to assemble, service, test, and repair machinery in accordance with company and manufacturer specifications, your duties will include the following:
• Prepare and assemble construction hoists prior to delivery.
• Identification, sorting and preparation of ancillary hoist equipment.
• Carry out repairs, maintenance, mechanical inspection and testing on our fleet of construction hoists.
• The use of hand and power tools as required.
• Cleaning and painting of plant and equipment.
• Loading / unloading machinery.
• Collection and delivery of machinery.
• Work safely at height.
• Ensure the health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
• Complete relevant paperwork accurately in a timely manner.
• Wear and maintain provided PPE at all times.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be experienced in mechanical engineering, plant maintenance or plant fitting, and have a desire to develop your skills and advance your career. A working knowledge of access machinery, construction hoists, cranes or similar would be advantageous, but is not essential as product training will be provided. You should be able to demonstrate:
• Mechanical engineering / plant fitting skills including assembly of complex fabricated parts.
• Motor and gearbox assembly and maintenance.
• Forklift driving experience (desirable).
• Basic fabrication skills (desiarable).
• Full & Clean Driving License.
• Be approachable and supportive to other team members and customers.
• Ability to work efficiently within tight deadlines.
• Excellent numeracy & literacy and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
