Recent Projects
With a track record of delivering vertical access solutions on a diverse range of projects nationwide, NTP are selected by contractors of all sizes to meet their requirements. Below are a selection of recent projects that we are proud to have been a part of.
This refurbishment project at Salisbury Tower in Birmingham required a combination of Transport Platforms and Passenger & Goods Hoists to cover 22 floors. NTP supplied our customer with two GEDA PH machines, along with a Bocker LX2024 to meet site’s requirements. This tailored fleet was installed with additional C Gates on each hoist.
The modular design of the LX2024 provided allowed our customer to have further choice in configuration, as a number of different platform sizes can be provided to find the best fit. In this instance, our A25 model was chosen, and an additional C Gate was also supplied to provide an additonal entry point to the machine.
Long running projects like this one show the durability of our machines. Over the 77 week duration we continuously examined our hoists and provided weekly inspections to ensure everything is kept in good working order.
Due to the number of floors and nature of the works on site, our operations team worked together with our customer to decide on an installation and dismantle sequence. This allowed for the machines to be installed in stages. Each machine was installed in 5x seperate visits, with thorough testing carried out between each climb along with weight testing to ensure the safety of our hoists.

Situated next to Nottingham railway station, this state-of-the-art tower offers 389,000 sqft of grade A office space across 10 floors and will be the new UK Government Hub in Nottingham, which will be home to HM Revenue and Customs’ (HMRC) and other government departments. The development is set to be one of HMRC’s largest regional offices, accommodating more than 4,000 colleagues.
NTP supplied a twin machine for this project, consisting of 1 x LX4024 A51 goods only machine and 1 x LX2024 A51 fully enclosed Passenger & Goods machine.
The LX4024 A51 had a safe working load of 3000kg and a cage size of 3.0m x 5.1m which allowed the site to transport large stillages of glass up to the different levels of the building as required
The LX2024 A51 had a safe working load of 1700kg and a cage size of 1.5m x 5.1m and this was used to carry passengers only
Unity square was a very successful project for both NTP and our client, due to the successful delivery of the project we have secured future works on many large schemes for the hire of similar equipment.

The development, estimated to be worth £65 million, consists of 18 and 22 story tower blocks. These will replace the former Alton Cars showroom site on Saxton Lane, Leeds.
The piazza-style development will be situated adjacent to all major transport routes and will accommodate one, two and three-bed apartments. It will be located within walking distance of the high street and will create a connectivity route to the city.
NTP supplied 3 machines on Saxton Lane. 2 x Bocker Giant 2038 passenger & goods machines and 1 x GEDA 1500ZZP Transport Platform. We worked closely with the temporary works team to design the hoist ties in such a way that the modular façade of the building was able to withstand the tie loadings.
Both of the passenger hoists were placed in the basement of the building which allowed the site to feed materials to the ground floor level. Due to the small site footprint the basement was used to store material before it was distributed accordingly using the hoists.
The Transport Platform sat at level 13 and fed materials to the remaining 9 levels. This machine was carefully selected because of the low tie and base loadings that we are able to offer with this type of equipment.

York Castle is a fortified complex in the city of York, England. It consists of a sequence of castles, prisons, law courts and other buildings, which were built over the last nine centuries on the south side of the River Foss. The now-ruined keep of the mediaeval Norman castle is commonly referred to as Clifford’s Tower.
During the tower’s 5 million pound renovation, NTP supplied a Bocker MX2024 A34 goods only machine. Initially the machine was used to remove large buckets of soil as the site had to dig the old ground out and lower the floor level. Once completed the machine was used to get materials in to the tower as the restoration began.
The hoist had a safe working load of 2000kg, a top landing height of 12m, fed 1 landing plus base and was on site for a 55 week period.
This was a great project to be involved with and it was a privilege to be crucial part of bringing this building back to life

Tying into the wider regeneration of Barking Town Centre, Axe Street is a landmark scheme that provides high quality Build to Rent homes along with commercial and leisure facilities, transforming the former Abbey Sports Centre into a vibrant civic quarter and visitor destination. NTP supplied 2 fully enclosed passenger & goods machines to help distribute men and materials throughout the build.
Hoist 1 had a safe working load of 2200kg and a top landing height of 41m. The machine fed 12 landings and ran at a speed of 60 mpm
Hoist 2 had a safe working load of 2200kg and a top landing height of 35m. This machine fed 10 landings and ran at a speed of 60 mpm
These machines were installed over multiple visits to suit the requirements of the site. Upon completion of the installations, NTP provided operator familiarisation to multiple site personnel which ensured they were competent to operate the hoists safely. All those that successfully completed the familiarisation course were issued with ‘competence cards’ to show that they were able to operate the machines safely.
All in all a very successful project for NTP and one that we are proud to have been a part of.

For this development, two buildings comprised 153 affordable sheltered units and 17 market sheltered units within Building 1 fronting Lodge Road.
NTP supplied a Twin GEDA PH20/32 Passenger & Goods hoist for this project with a safe working load of 2000kg. The machine served 14 landings with a top landing height of 42m. The machine was installed progressively over 3 separate visits as the building progressed.
We also supplied our state of the art Bluetooth landing call system that allowed the contractors on site to notify the hoist drivers when they required picking up from the various landings.
The hoist was on site for a 66 week hire period and was an integral part of the project as the site had a very small footprint. They therefore needed a reliable machine that made distributing men and materials easy throughout the duration of the project. Due to the long hire duration NTP invested in new equipment for Lodge Road which was purchased ‘on spec’ for this project.

This new 110,000 sq ft hotel required a passenger goods hoist to reach up to their 13th floor (circa 40m). This 2 Tonne LX2024 machine carried both personnel and materials to allow our customer to fit all 275 new luxury rooms at the Leonardo Hotel, Manchester.
This 40 week hire only required a single hoist to be installed and this was originally planned to be installed over two visits. When new circumstances arose, we were able to accommodate additional installation visits and eventually complete the installation over four visits to suit the development’s schedule.
Following the successful installation, NTP performed operator familiarisation for a number of site operatives who would be able to operate the machine safely. Once the successful candidates have completed their training, NTP issue both hard hat stickers and a card to prove that the operatives are competent to operate the machinery.
At the end of this project we had provided 40 weeks of great service which made the distribution of men and materials on site easy. This is one of many Bowmer & Kirkland developments that we have had the opportunity to supply hoists on.

The restoration of Castle Howard in York required a small Goods machine to reach the roof of the main building. As a result, a small Z320 hoist perfectly matched this project and met all requirements. This also helped the various teams of specialists working hard to bring this stately home back to life.
The home, previously seen on shows such as Brideshead Revisited, ITV’s Victoria and Bridgerton, is know for its opulent interior and dramatic history. The building has received multiple renovations since its completion in 1811 and it is due to the protection of the building that our machine was tied to the scaffolding. To complete this, we were able to accommodate with a smaller machine size and therefore lower tie loadings.
As part of this machine package, our engineers carried out weekly inspections. This ensured that any issues were picked up before they became a bigger problem. It also gave our customer peace of mind to know that their hoist will be in good working order at all times.
The renovations, including our hoist, can be seen on Nick Knowles: Heritage Rescue, giving us the rare opportunity to have one of our machines seen on TV. We have had the pleasure to successfully work with our customer, Sky Scaffolding, and meet all of the particular needs of this unique project.
